As a literacy specialist, I have trained educators in the teaching of reading and have worked with teachers to develop writing programs in their classrooms. I’ve seen even the most reluctant students become writers as they begin believing in themselves.I want to see every child feel this sense of accomplishment.
I know from experience that all students can learn, but not necessarily at the same time or in the same way. My goal is to work with students to discover how they learn best, while at the same time help them develop the tools and the confidence they need to succeed in school.
I am an educational therapist working with students of all ages. I combine educational and therapeutic approaches in evaluation, remediation, communication, and advocacy for clients with learning difficulties or disabilities. I also facilitate communication between client, family, and school.
In addition to being an Educational Therapist, I have an M.A. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and hold credentials in Multiple Subjects and Social Science. I also have a California Reading Specialist credential.
